:As a few of you know, I've been gathering parts for a TT swap since late August. This all started after finding out that Jose(zboost) picked up a wrecked 96TT which was previously owned by tt.netter Arthur. I got ahold of Jose and got all the info on the motor and a price. :Drove from Phoenix to Edinburg Texas that weekend and picked up the little 68K mile gem. : :I slowly cleaned up stuff, polished, gathered extra parts. I even got a 2nd job to start buying things for the car. If that isn't love I don't know what is, lol. Then out of the blue, Shawn (Kong ZTT GT28RS) asks if I would want to buy a set of nearly brand new GT28R turbos, we agree and shortly after I get these: : :I was stoked! Going from a stage 3 NA to I don't even know what stage ugraded TT. After that I picked up 740cc injectors, split downpipes, just about every hose and gasket that I could get to. :Finally after getting everything all of my parts last week and prepping the engine for its transplant. I took my remaining vacation hours and took off work from last Sunday to Friday and began my swap. :The first day I worked non stop morning til night and got from this: : :To this: : :I don't think I did too bad for a first timer pretty much by myself. I had a few friends from our local Z club ([ www.projectz32.com ]) stop over and give a hand, but considering it was a week night, they couldn't stay out all that late. :With this being said, I didn't really get any pictures of my progress because I was pretty much the only one working on it, and I didn't feel like stopping to take many pics since I had my heart set on finishing it in one week. :So as of Sunday night, I ended up with this: : : : :Yeah I know, it looks like I've got an American theme going on in there with the blue couplers, but I've got to live with them for now. I need to tie up a fews ends in the engine bay still. :Last night I finally got to drive it. After hitting 15psi in second gear and having the ass end sideways I realized that it was worth every penny and ounce of energy I spent on it. I can't believe how long I've been missing out on this kind of power. These cars pull like nothing I've ever ridden in! :Unfortunately later that night I couldn't get the car to want to go in gear without putting all my force into it. Started moving with the clutch pedal fully pushed in. Got under it this morning and wiggled on the clutch fork, it was all sloppy. As a Christmas present to myself, I pulled the transmission out and found this: : : : :The damn bushing that the TOB is pressed to was cracked which I think let to cracking the arm on the clutch fork. I think it may have been broke for a while though, because it acted up on me once before in the past. :So today I was out of comission, but hopefully tomorrow I can get to Coz's and pick up the parts to get her running again. :Finally I would like to thank twinturbo.net and a list of members for helping me out with all of my problems and questions and taking the time to be patient enough when I didn't know what they hell they were trying to tell me. :Kong ZTT GT28RS :YugoBernie :Chris(NJ) :ZXRider :Jmoore010 :Booster(MD) :zboost :sfpearl300zTT :So that's my post, once again I thank all of you for providing your knowledge to this website. When I think about when I bought my Z roughly 4 years ago I didn't even know how to change the oil, and now this. Hope everyone had a good holiday and stays safe! gg
